Olowalu Plantation House Wedding

Kristian grew up coming to Maui on vacation every year so it really feels like a second home to her. When she and Andrew got engaged they knew the Olowalu Plantation House on Maui was where they would be getting married. On one of their trips to Maui they did a ton of wedding planning and were able to meet up with me for an engagement session! Most of my couples are planning destination weddings, so we don’t get to meet in person until the actual wedding day. Getting to meet Kristian and Andrew for their engagement shoot was such a special treat.

Fast forward a few years (and a COVID postponement later), and they finally got married at Olowalu Plantation House.

Olowalu Plantation House is easily one of my very favorite wedding venues on Maui. It’s located right on the ocean which is actually pretty rare to find in a wedding venue here. From getting ready in the old Plantation House (all those classic Hawaii feels) to having the ceremony & reception right next to the water, it’s just incredible.

With COVID (I hope I never have to say that word again) the guest list was cut down to about 20 making it the sweetest intimate wedding. Kristian & Andrew had a total of 5 people in their wedding party, making it even more intimate. The getting ready time was really relaxed so that Kristian and Andrew could fully enjoy the day and not feel any stress of a timeline (shoutout to White Orchid Wedding for being the best coordinators!).

After the ceremony, Kristian and Andrew were able to enjoy cocktail hour with the guests…I mean check out the grilled cheese and tomato soup appetizer! Then, we headed to the famous Olowalu Plantation House pier to take time for portraits of the couple at sunset. It was the perfect evening and I think you’ll agree when you see the images.
