I have to share the excerpt from Dan’s initial inquiry because it’s so spot on.
“As for the shoot, I’m not sure if we’d prefer to do a beach shoot or something with more green space, but either way, I think the photos you capture of us would be incredible. Mostly we just want to hold each other, laugh, smile, smooch a little and capture our love on film. We want to be able to remember exactly where we were and what we were feeling when we look at these photos and we think that you’re the perfect photographer to capture that for us!”
Maui has SO many beautiful locations that it can get a bit overwhelming! As Dan said, the location doesn’t matter nearly as much as your connection. However, with that being said, we did pick 3 amazing locations!
The Proposal
When Dan and Amanda booked a session, it wasn’t for a proposal! Then, a few weeks before the couples session, Dan e-mailed saying that he wanted to propose. Their connection was so obvious through our e-mails so I had a feeling he might propose 🙂
We planned to have him do it right away so that all the nerves would be gone right away! Amanda obviously said yes!
The Rest of the Session
After the proposal, we headed to the beach to run around together! Couples Sessions on the beach are so much fun because you get to move!! There’s only so much running around we can do on a cliffside, so it’s always nice to have the wide-open space of a beach.
When Dan and Amanda inquired with me, they mentioned this cliff jumping session. They wanted to do something just like it! Cliff jumping is the perfect way to celebrate your engagement!! It’s always so fun for me to photograph.
Amanda’s amazing white dress is from Free People! It’s one of my favorite stores for dresses for sessions!
