I was so fortunate to be able to fly over to Kauai from Maui to shoot Lauren Burnham and Arie Luyendyk’s honeymoon. You can see the PEOPLE magazine feature here.
Lauren & Arie were destined to be together. They’re such a light to be around. When I was done taking photos of them and the camera was away, Lauren was still jumping on Arie and they were all over each other. They’re the real deal.
The two got married just a week earlier at the Haiku Mill on Maui. After the wedding, Lauren and Arie flew from one paradise to the next. Maui to Kauai!
Let’s talk about the Honeymoon Session!
We started the session by hanging out at the Princeville Resort Kauai and at the beach in front of the resort. The Resort is on a cliffside overlooking Hanalei Bay. The views are BREATHTAKING! This is the ultimate honeymoon or babymoon resort. I can just imagine sipping my early morning coffee while looking out at the bay during sunrise. Can I just move in, please?!
When we were done exploring the resort, we decided to visit Queen’s Bath to end the session in the water. It was just a short 5-minute drive from the resort so it was perfect. Well…. the waves were insane and the entire natural pool was washed out. Getting in the water would have meant serious injuries, so we hung out on shore and watched the waves crash onto the lava rock cliffs.
The hike down was super muddy because of all the recent rain. We had to climb through vines and walk through a lot of mud. Lauren hiked barefoot and took it all like a champ. 20-weeks pregnant? Ya, that’s got nothing on her 😉 The hike was supposed to be a short 20 minutes, but it turned out being quite a bit longer because of the crazy weather!
Little baby Luyendyk is so dang lucky to have them as parents.
