Oh my gosh, where to begin!! Nicole and Quinn had the most incredible wedding at The Haiku Mill on Maui’s North Shore! What they cared about the very most was the people. They wanted to make sure their guests had the best time, and they definitely did. Listening to the speeches made it very clear that Nicole & Quinn are deeply loved by their people. From talking over the phone to emailing about their wedding, I already knew this was true, but listening to speeches really solidified it. You’re a lucky person if you know Quinn & Nicole.

Nicole really wanted a documentary approach to her wedding photography, so we did exactly that! While some couples want a lot of time for Couples Portraits, Nicole & Quinn wanted to be partying with their guests as much as possible. Besides family portraits, wedding party photos, and a 5-minute couples portrait session, everything was documentary style.

A documentary approach to wedding photography means that you photograph everything as is happens. I’m not there curating fake moments by awkwardly posing you or asking you to “fake laugh” for a photo. It’s all real and genuine. I can honestly say that my couple’s favorite photos from their wedding day are always the ones that they didn’t know I was taking. I always say that you can’t “pose” genuine emotion, and that really rang true with this wedding.

Nicole & Quinn, thank you so much for having me. I really love you two and was so sad to leave at the end of the night!
